Collections of Objects in the Model View
In the Model view, each object (except the model) is displayed under a node representing a collection of those objects. There are several types of collections:
- Collections for a specific class of objects. This is the usual case. For example, placing Tables and Views under nodes specific to their types.
- Collections for a general class of objects, where more than one object type is aggregated.
- Collections for a class of objects that have a specific role, such as Incoming Relations.
Collection nodes are sorted alphabetically.
The name used for the collection is determined by checking a variety of sources that can provide a name, and is checked in a specific order. The first name that is reported is used. This approach allows the behavior of the Model Explorer to be handled by specifying metadata, unless you want completely custom names.
All collection nodes use a multiplicity symbol over the object icon to indicate that they are a collection node instead of an object node.
